Hva har du lov til?
Du har selv ansvaret for at alt arbeid på huset ditt gjøres i henhold til reglene. Søknadspliktige tiltak er det strengeste nivået. Å bygge nytt hus er søknadspliktig. Meldepliktige tiltak har en enklere saksbehandling. Garasjer og små tilbygg kan falle i denne kategorien. På begge disse nivåene er det strenge krav til hvem som kan gjøre jobben.
Tiltak som er unntatt fra byggesaksbehandling er det minst strenge nivået. Her kan du i utgangspunktet gjøre alt selv, så lenge du gjør det forskriftsmessig. Levegger, små støttemurer og uteboder under 15 kvadratmeter er eksempler på tiltak kommunen ikke trenger å vite om. Innendørs kan du rive lettvegger som ikke har bærende eller brannsikrende oppgaver. Alt vedlikehold og oppussing kan du også i utgangspunktet gjøre selv.
Strøm – ligg unna
Elektrikerarbeid på huset har du ikke lov til å gjøre selv. Elektriske anlegg reguleres av en egen lov. Grensen går mellom stikkontakten i veggen og det du plugger inn. Du har ikke lov til å montere lampepunkter og stikkontakter. Men du kan montere en taklampe i lampepunktet, og du kan montere støpsel og ledningsbryter på lampetten – hvis du vet hva du gjør. Du kan også gjøre noe forberedende elektrikerarbeid, som å legge tomme trekkerør for ledninger i veggen. Avtal dette med elektrikeren på forhånd.
Vann – ligg unna
For rørleggerabeid finnes det ingen tilsvarende lov. Men det meste av rørleggerarbeid er meldepliktig, så dermed må du overlate det til en rørlegger likevel. Våtrom er i det hele tatt klokt å overlate til fagfolk.
Veldig mange våtromskader dekkes uansett ikke av forsikring. Det gjelder for eksempel fuktskader som skyldes utette membraner. Hvis du eller noen andre har gjort noe galt her, får du ikke dekket det.
VANSKELIG:
Helsparkling av store veggflater krever en egen teknikk. Det vil nesten helt sikkert lønne seg for deg å jobbe litt ekstra i din vanlige jobb, og få profesjonell hjelp til sparklingen. Først må du finne ut hvor mye du i praksis tjener på å jobbe en time ekstra. Deretter må du ta hensyn til at du antakelig snekrer tregere enn en proff snekker. Hvor mye tregere varierer selvfølgelig fra person til person, og mellom ulike arbeidsoppgaver. Sparkling av store veggflater er et eksempel på en arbeidsoppgave som hobbysnekkeren gjør mye langsommere enn håndverkeren. Her er det teknikk som kun proffene har.
MORSOMT:
Listing og finish er favorittjobben. Du må regne med å bruke betydelig mer tid enn proffene. Men gjør du feil, er ikke konsekvensene så dramatiske. Skal du bruke fritiden din på noe, bør det helst være på noe du liker.
